About Us
The Younger Family Fund, established in 1991, is the philanthropic initiative of a multi-generational family rooted in the San Francisco Bay Area. The Fund reflects our family's enduring commitment to generosity, faith, service, and shared responsibility. Our family’s journey—shaped by both privilege and hardships—has deepened our appreciation for the vital role of supportive community, financial stability, health, and faith. This awareness drives our commitment to investing in visionary leaders of effective organizations that serve those facing adversity.
The second generation-- the Younger and Aleman families-- now serve as active Directors of YFF, shaping its direction and evaluating partners. What began as an invitation to practice generosity in their young adulthood has grown into a collaborative leadership team rooted in trust, shared values, and long-term commitment. Their work is sustained across continents through regular discernment and an annual “Sibs Trip” that reinforces both purpose and connection.
About our Executive Director
In 2013, Julie Aleman started facilitating the annual Sibs Trip and in 2016, Bill asked Julie to take a more formal role and build a strategy to take the YFF to the next level in order to aggressively invest in leaders and their organizations. Her career in nonprofit fundraising was the springboard to building out the mission, values, strategy, and execution of the Younger Family Fund. She tries to keep learning and connecting with other peers through networks like Professionals in Christian Philanthropy, The Gathering, and National Center for Family Philanthropy.
Julie’s previous experience includes research and design thinking at Stanford’s Effective Philanthropy Learning Initiative, capital campaign management, major gifts fundraising, and annual campaign management. She currently leads YFF while living in San Francisco with her husband, Nathan, and three young children.
